Pleasant Mount Emergency Services, Inc. (PMES) is an all-volunteer Fire and EMS
company located in Wayne County, Mount Pleasant Township, Northeast PA.
PMES is culmination of many years of negotiation to merge two neighboring
fire departments — Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department
(established in 1966 as Pleasant Mount Fire Company1) and
Belmont Corners Volunteer Fire Company Inc. (organized Aug. 20 19481, and incorporated Dec. 15 1948).
Each company felt it was a necessary move to better serve the community.
The merger was completed in 2001 and Pleasant Mount Emergency Services, Inc.
became the new department.
